Where cultures meet, hearts steady, and communities begin to sing together.

Welcome

A quiet association with a long memory and an open door.

Feng-yün Song, z.s. was founded in Prague by musicians, teachers and carers who kept noticing the same thing: people were surrounded by others and still profoundly alone. Newcomers could not find a door into Czech life. Seniors had songs no one asked them to sing anymore. Young people carried anxiety they had no words for. We began with a small circle of voices in a borrowed rehearsal room, and the circle simply kept widening.

Today we are a registered association (zapsaný spolek) under Czech law, IČO 28558502, with our seat at Chodovská 1549/18 in Prague 10. Our work spans cultural exchange concerts and heritage workshops, mindful living and health awareness sessions, social integration support for immigrants and marginalised neighbours, youth creativity programmes in schools, and seminars on living more lightly on the earth.

We are deliberately human-sized. We know the names of the people who come to us, we sit with them when a programme ends, and we publish honestly what we spent and what changed. Whether you arrive as a participant, a volunteer, a donor or an institutional partner, you are joining a community that measures success in trust as carefully as in numbers.

What we do

Five programmes, one continuous thread of care.

Each initiative stands on its own — and each one feeds the others. A person who first came to a concert often ends up in a mindfulness circle, then volunteering at a youth workshop.

Programme 01

Cultural Exchange & Musical Heritage Workshops

Vocal arts, storytelling, concerts and cross-cultural dialogue that bring Prague's many communities into one shared repertoire.

Programme 02

Mindful Living & Health Awareness

Stress relief, mental wellness literacy and holistic health practice for seniors, young people and those carrying heavy loads.

Programme 03

Community Support & Social Integration

Practical accompaniment for immigrants, marginalised neighbours and isolated residents building a local network of care.

Programme 04

Youth & Education Outreach

Creative, artistic and educational sessions delivered in schools, libraries and community centres across the city.

Programme 05

Environmental & Conscious Living Seminars

Sustainability, harmony with nature and ecological responsibility taught in a warm, practical, household-level way.

Mission, vision & values

Culture as a bridge. Care as a daily practice.

Our Mission

Feng-yün Song, z.s. exists to strengthen the social and emotional fabric of the Czech Republic and Europe through cultural exchange, the performing and vocal arts, holistic human development, health education, social integration and direct support to vulnerable individuals. We create accessible spaces — concerts, workshops, circles, classrooms and kitchen tables — in which people of different origins, ages, faiths and abilities can meet as equals. We safeguard artistic heritage while using it as a living instrument for well-being, and we accompany newcomers, seniors, young people and those in psychological or social distress with patience, dignity and practical help. Everything we do is delivered free or at deliberately low cost, so that participation never depends on income.

Our Vision

We envision an inclusive European society in which cultural difference is experienced as richness rather than threat; in which mental health is spoken about as plainly as physical health; in which artistic heritage is passed on rather than archived; and in which mutual care is an ordinary civic habit, not an emergency response. In that society, a newly arrived family finds a welcoming circle within weeks, a seventy-year old voice still has a stage, a teenager knows how to name what they feel, and neighbours know each other well enough to notice when someone disappears. We work, year after year, to make that ordinary reality slightly more real in Prague — and to share what we learn with partners across Europe.

Core value

Harmony & Cultural Inclusion

We believe that cultures meet best in a shared song, a shared meal, a shared silence. Every programme we run is designed so that a Czech grandmother, a Chinese student and a Ukrainian newcomer can all belong in the same room without anyone being asked to become someone else.

Core value

Empathy & Compassionate Care

We start with listening. Before we design a workshop we ask people what is heavy in their lives right now. Compassion, for us, is a practical craft: patient facilitators, unhurried sessions and follow-up that continues long after the applause.

Core value

Transparency & Integrity

Every koruna entrusted to us is recorded, reported and explained. We publish annual activity and financial reports, keep our statutes and registration details public, and never make a promise to a donor that our accounts cannot verify.

Core value

Community Empowerment

We do not deliver services to communities; we build capacity within them. Participants become volunteers, volunteers become facilitators, and facilitators shape the next season of programming with us.

Core value

Preservation of Artistic Heritage & Well-Being

Traditional vocal arts, folk repertoire, storytelling and mindful movement are living heritage and living medicine. Protecting them and using them for well-being are, in our work, the same task.

Why partner with us

Small enough to know every participant. Structured enough to be accountable.

Donors, volunteers, institutional partners and international grant-makers choose Feng-yün Song, z.s. because our impact is verifiable, our governance is documented, and our presence in Prague is genuinely rooted.

Genuine grassroots presence in Prague

We are not a project office parachuted into a neighbourhood. Our seat is in Prague 10, our facilitators live in the districts they serve, and our partners include local schools, libraries, senior clubs and cultural venues that have worked with us for years.

A rare integration of arts and holistic wellness

Very few organisations combine serious musical and cultural heritage work with structured mental-health and mindful-living practice. That combination is our signature: it reaches people who would never enter a therapy room but will happily enter a choir.

Transparent governance and clean reporting

A board of directors, an executive team and an advisory council with clearly separated responsibilities; annual activity and financial reports; documented conflict-of interest and non-discrimination policies; and audit-ready bookkeeping.

A proven, documented track record

Over a decade of continuous activity, thousands of participants, long-term partner relationships, and outcome data collected through participant feedback at the close of every programme cycle.
